Dr. Sharon Crowell joined The Vancouver Clinic in 1993. After serving in various leadership roles, she was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001, and is honored to serve as the Board Chair since 2009. She firmly believes physician owned and governed, professionally managed multispecialty groups like The Vancouver Clinic are uniquely equipped to deliver highest quality care with excellent service while developing systems to lower the overall cost of care. She is honored to lead The Vancouver Clinic as we transform our care delivery to become the best in the Northwest for patient-focused, quality-proven care.
In her leadership role, Dr. Crowell represents the physician owners of The Vancouver Clinic in the community. She has developed strong relationships with leaders from Legacy Health and PeaceHealth hospitals, working to improve the quality and service our patients receive while hospitalized and as they navigate between the hospital and home. She is passionate about improving health care for the underserved, so she is serving on the Southwest Washington Regional Health Alliance Board of Directors with like-minded leaders from many community sectors to build an integrated delivery system designed to meet the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors. Because she believes physicians have important and unique perspectives on health care policy, she advocates for patients and physicians with state and national legislators, and is an active member of the American Medical Group Association.
Dr. Crowell is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician. In addition to her leadership role, she currently cares for patients at a local skilled nursing facility with a goal of reducing hospital readmissions and emergency room visits for her patients, and coordinating smooth and successful transitions when her patients are ready to return home.
“Medicine was a good fit for me, tying together my personal mission to serve others with my interest in science. Internal medicine has provided me with the opportunity to develop meaningful long term relationships with my patients, and the skills to make life better for them.”
