Yash Patel, DO
Internal Medicine Resident
Dr. Yash Patel supports patients as they make lifestyle changes to prevent and manage diseases. He works with individuals to develop personalized care plans that are practical, science-based, and consistent with their beliefs and values. Getting to know people and helping them make sustainable changes is one of his greatest joys in medicine.
Born and raised in India, Dr. Patel came to the U.S. when he was 16 years old. His early experiences with a humble health care system have stayed with him and are his inspiration for entering primary care. He considers preventive medicine and early disease management to be central to good health. Dr. Patel focuses on the whole person and ensures that each patient goes home with an action plan to improve their wellness.
Dr. Patel earned a bachelor of science in human biology from the University of California, Irvine. He earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine at Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri. Among his many medical volunteer experiences, Dr. Patel has supported an Autism Speaks walk, traveled to Mexico seven times with Flying Samaritans, and volunteered at free clinics in Garden Grove, California, and Kansas City.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring national parks. His favorite trails are those that lead to waterfalls. He also loves spending time with his family and trying new restaurants.
