Xin Zhang, MD
Building strong relationships with patients and gaining a deep understanding of their values and goals is important to Dr. Xin Zhang. She believes that this is the best way to guide care, as it allows her to offer solutions that respect patients’ wishes.
Dr. Zhang sees adult patients of all ages. She has a special interest in helping people age well and offering support for conditions that appear as individuals get older. She enjoys counseling women through perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Zhang also believes in holistic medicine and is open to discussing complementary medicine, such as acupuncture, as part of her patients’ care plans.
Dr. Zhang earned a doctor of medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned a bachelor of arts in biology from the same university. She completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. She is board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics.
An interesting fact about Dr. Zhang is that she didn’t learn how to ride a bike until she was 18. It’s an experience that reinforced her belief that age shouldn’t hold people back from trying new things. It really is just a number. Beyond flying down the street on two wheels, Dr. Zhang enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling the world.
