Venus Singh uses a strengths-based approach to therapy, helping patients recognize and build on their natural abilities to better manage challenges. She considers education to be an essential part of every treatment plan.
Venus was drawn to the mental health field because she enjoys building a healthier community. She has a special passion for social justice issues, including women’s rights, systemic racism, and anti-racism progress. She believes every citizen should be able to feel safe and connected.
Venus earned a bachelor of arts in sociology and psychology and a master of social work at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Her previous experience includes working with youth who were placed in foster care, providing therapy to kids in a public school district, and offering counseling to adults in the criminal justice system.
Away from medicine, Venus enjoys spending time with her family, friends, partner, and daughter. She loves to hike throughout the Pacific Northwest and travel to unique destinations where she can learn about other cultures.
