Internal Medicine Resident
Dr. Sophia Lee considers education essential to delivering excellent care. She enjoys teaching patients about their health and discussing what lifestyle changes and treatment options will enable them to meet their goals. Dr. Lee listens closely and with an open mind, enabling patients to feel comfortable and speak honestly about their needs.
Dr. Lee earned a bachelor of science in physiological sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed a doctor of medicine at California Northstate University College of Medicine in Elk Grove, California. She is fluent in Chinese.
Dr. Lee has a special interest in hepatitis B. She helps break down the stigma associated with the disease and encourages individuals to get tested and vaccinated. In addition to raising awareness about hepatitis B, her volunteer experience includes supporting clinics in Nicaragua and Peru, volunteering with the Sacramento Food Bank, and helping at a student-run free clinic.
Away from medicine, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking delicious treats, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She stays active by going hiking, practicing yoga, and swimming.
