Sonam Kiwalkar, MD
Rheumatologist
Dr. Sonam Kiwalkar strives to practice medicine with kindness, compassion, and wisdom—the same values that her father, also a doctor, lives by. She particularly appreciates the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients. She enjoys listening to their life stories and connecting with them on a personal level.
As a provider, Dr. Kiwalkar focuses on empowering patients with information about their medical condition so that they can help make informed decisions about their health. She manages a full range of rheumatologic concerns, but has a special interest in axial spondyloarthritis, rheumatic adverse events of cancer immunotherapy agents, and medical education.
Dr. Kiwalkar earned her medical degree at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College in Pune, India. She completed a residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, New York. She completed her rheumatology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
In her spare time, Dr. Kiwalkar loves cooking Indian food and hiking around the Pacific Northwest with her husband. She is a trained Indian classical dancer.
