Social Worker
Sarah Heiney works with patients to set and achieve mental health goals. She enjoys problem-solving with people and celebrating their wins, both big and small. Sarah is passionate about teaching coping skills and techniques to patients and connecting them with resources to help them succeed.
Sarah works with adults of all ages. She focuses on using short-term, solutions-focused techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Sarah grew up with a community-service mindset and often volunteered during the summer. Pursuing a career in social work was a natural extension of her interests. Sarah earned a bachelor of arts in social work at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She completed a master of social work at the University of Illinois, Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. She is a licensed clinical social worker and the inpatient and transitional services manager at Vancouver Clinic.
Sarah continues to volunteer in her community. She currently helps older adults with shopping, yard work, and home repairs, allowing them to live independently in their homes. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, and paddleboarding with her partner. She loves going to comedy shows and seeing live music. She is also a zip line enthusiast and contends that the best thrills might be in Iceland.
