Sarah Barco Foster, CNM, DNP
Certified Nurse Midwife
Sarah Barco Foster is passionate about caring for people during their reproductive years. She loves connecting with patients and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. She finds midwifery particularly rewarding because she can walk with people throughout their pregnancy journey. She loves witnessing the strength, resilience, and transformation of new parents.
Sarah has a special interest in providing contraceptive counseling to teenagers and working with the LGBTQ+ community. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and enjoys supporting new parents in meeting their feeding goals.
Sarah began her career as a community midwife, an experience that gave her a strong foundation in informed choice and physiologic birth. She attended Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon, where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing, a master of nursing practice in nurse-midwifery, and a doctor of nursing practice with a focus on nurse-midwifery.
Away from medicine, Sarah and her partner enjoy spending time with their two children and exploring wild places. Sarah loves everything related to plants, gardening, and botany and has completed several certificates in botanical medicine. She has previously volunteered at organizations that support survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
