From a young age, Dr. Patrick McGowan wanted to become a physician because of the caring and inspiring physicians who took care of several of his family members. These experiences shaped him into an internist who values a team approach to wellness. He works collaboratively with patients, their families, clinic staff, and his colleagues to provide exceptional primary care.

Dr. McGowan has a special interest in managing chronic illnesses such as hypertension, dementia, diabetes, anxiety, and depression. He finds it rewarding to partner with patients to monitor and manage these conditions so they can achieve long-term health.

Dr. McGowan earned a bachelor of arts in biology at the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla, California. He earned a doctor of medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. From there, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, California.

Away from medicine, Dr. McGowan’s passion is flying, which he finds incredibly beautiful and wonderfully challenging. He even built an airplane in his garage that flies surprisingly well. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
