Dr. Mel Pierdomenico believes that advocating for patients is one of the most important responsibilities of a physician. They love taking care of whole families and seeing patients through years of growth. They enjoy listening to patients and learning about patients’ lives in addition to their health concerns. As a clinician, they focus on educating individuals about their illness or disease, empowering them to make informed decisions.

Dr. Pierdomenico has a special interest in providing care to the LGBTQIA+ community and offering gender-affirming care. They are also passionate about reproductive care, medication-assisted treatment, and palliative care.

Inspired to enter medicine after their grandmother’s cancer diagnosis, Dr. Pierdomenico earned a bachelor of science in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From there, they earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. They completed a family medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Away from medicine, Dr. Pierdomenico and their wife enjoy exploring national parks, playing board games, going camping, visiting local bookstores, and snuggling their three cats. Dr. Pierdomenico has hiked 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail and hopes to complete the entire trail one day.
