Mei Dong, MD, PhD
Oncologist / Hematologist
Dr. Mei Dong believes that being part of a cancer patient’s journey and helping guide individuals through the physical and emotional stresses of the disease is an honor. As an oncologist with a deep background in research, she enjoys staying current on emerging cancer treatments and providing the most updated and comprehensive care. Through Vancouver Clinic’s partnership with the OHSU Knight – Legacy Health Cancer Collaborative, Dr. Dong works closely with other physicians to bring clinical trials to our cancer patients.
Dr. Dong earned a doctor of medicine from Harbin Medical University in Harbin, China. She received a PhD in biomedical science at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. From there she performed cancer research at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She completed an internship and residence at Yale-affiliated Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. She also completed a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. She has performed extensive research in gastrointestinal malignancies.
Dr. Dong is married with two stepchildren. She and her family enjoy traveling to Asia and U.S. national parks, and playing board games together. On the weekends, Dr. Dong often hikes, plays tennis, and listens to classical music.
