Dr. Peel focuses on internal medicine. She has a special interest in teaching patients how to prevent chronic diseases and supporting them as they make healthy lifestyle choices.
Dr. Peel started her medical career after high school. She worked as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and, later, as a paramedic in the San Francisco Bay Area. She then completed firefighting training and became a firefighter paramedic in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada above Sacramento. Four years later, she was ready to pursue her future as a physician. Dr. Peel earned a master of science in biology at the University of California, Davis in Davis, California. She completed her doctor of medicine at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Peel and her husband have two grown sons and two black Labradors who failed out of Guide Dogs for the Blind training. Fortunately, the pups passed family dog certification with flying colors and are a great addition to the family! Dr. Peel enjoys traveling, gardening, bicycling, and being outdoors.
