Kristin Sorenson, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Kristin Sorenson decided to pursue a career in eye care after observing her hometown optometrist. One look under the slit lamp—the special microscope used to see inside patients’ eyes—and she was hooked. She knew she wanted to understand everything she could about people’s eyesight.
Better vision can be life changing, Dr. Sorenson believes. Her care method includes teaching patients about their eyes, discussing treatment options, and reaching a care plan together. She particularly enjoys educating patients on how good nutrition can support eye health and may even prevent or control eye disease.
Before joining Vancouver Clinic, Dr. Sorenson owned Accent Eye Care for 12 years. The practice became a Vancouver Clinic location in May of 2020.
Dr. Sorenson earned a doctor of optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She completed her residency training at Hunkeler Eye Centers in Overland Park, Kansas, with a special interest in refractive surgery care. She has traveled on medical mission trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic with VOSH/International (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity).
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sorenson enjoys taking Bikram yoga classes, hiking, and cycling. She has participated in marathons, triathlons, and the 92-mile Ride Around the Sound, a bike ride supporting the American Lung Association in Washington.
