Josie Boyle Cowburn excels at putting people at ease during stressful situations. She enjoys sitting and talking with patients to understand what they need to feel better, and then creating a plan to address their health issues. She believes that including other providers and a patient’s family in decisions can help ensure high-quality care.

Josie earned an associate of arts in nursing at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. She went on to complete a master of science in nursing and a doctor of nursing practice from Frontier Nursing University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Josie spent 15 years as an emergency department nurse at six Legacy Health hospitals in Portland, Oregon.

Away from medicine, Josie and her husband love camping in their Sprinter van. While out in the wilderness, they hike, bike, fish, raft, and ski. They also spend time sharing meals with her adult children.
