Dr. Jose Rivera Sarti empowers patients to understand their diagnosis in simple terms. He guides individuals through treatment options to determine the best fit for them. As an infectious disease physician, he incorporates preventive care whenever possible.

Dr. Rivera Sarti has a special interest in using immunizations and medications to prevent diseases. He is passionate about providing care to patients with HIV. He is also interested in caring for patients who have infectious complications due to substance use.

Dr. Rivera Sarti completed his undergraduate studies at Colegio Guatemalteco Bilingue in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He earned a doctor of medicine at Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Francisco Marroquín, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. From there, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in infectious disease at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.

Outside of work, Dr. Rivera Sarti enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and bulldog mix, Hero. Once his baby daughter is older, the family plans to go to the beach, frequent farmers markets, and explore new cities and restaurants. Born and raised in Guatemala, he travels to his hometown of Guatemala City at least once a year.
