Jennifer Poste, MD
Endocrinologist
Dr. Jennifer Poste develops meaningful partnerships with patients. She focuses on empowering individuals with information, helping them understand why making lifestyle changes or taking specific medications is important. This enables patients to stay invested in their own wellness.
An endocrinologist, Dr. Poste enjoys the challenge of diagnosing rare endocrine diseases and giving patients a path forward. She is also passionate about serving individuals with diabetes. She finds that helping patients take control of this common disease and prevent the devastating toll it can take on the body is extremely fulfilling.
Dr. Poste was inspired to become a physician after her grandfather experienced a heart attack. His care team showed her family incredible compassion through their thoughtfulness and their willingness to clearly explain his medical condition. A few years later, during college, Poste volunteered at several hospitals and quickly came to realize that medicine is where she belongs.
Dr. Poste earned a bachelor of science in animal physiology and neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla, California. She earned a doctor of medicine at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. She completed an internal medicine residency at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester/New York Medical College in New Rochelle, New York. From there she completed an endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism fellowship at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College, in Valhalla, New York. She is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
Away from medicine, Dr. Poste likes to wake surf, snowboard, exercise, and travel. Dr. Poste and her husband, a general surgeon, have two dogs.
