Jeff G. Zhao, MD
Dr. Jeff Zhao considers mental health crucial to well-being. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Zhao focuses on helping patients understand and explore how their life experiences may contribute to feelings of distress or satisfaction. He values a holistic care approach, balancing his understanding of each patient and their experiences with medication and psychotherapeutic interventions. His goal is to create treatment plans that respect patient preferences and allow individuals to make informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Zhao sees adults of all ages. He is passionate about treating mood disorders, including major depressive disorder, treatment-refractory depression, and bipolar disorder; anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder; and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in adults.
Dr. Zhao earned a bachelor of science in chemistry at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He completed a doctor of medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is board-certified in psychiatry.
In his free time, Dr. Zhao appreciates trying new things, whether it is new music, new food, or new travel destinations. He loves hiking, camping, and spending time with his kids. Thanks to a childhood spent in four countries—the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, and China—he is fluent in Mandarin.
