Jamie Schoen, DPT
Physical Therapist
Jamie Schoen believes that movement is healing and that the body possesses an innate drive to recover. She spends time getting to know each patient’s interests, motivations, and challenges so that she can better help them meet their unique physical therapy goals.
Jamie became interested in the rehabilitation process after sustaining a ballet injury in her teens. She experienced firsthand how difficult recovering from an injury can be. Today she enjoys offering encouragement and support to patients as they work to safely add more movement back into their lives. Jamie sees patients of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. She has special interests in pelvic floor rehabilitation and dance medicine.
Jamie earned a bachelor of science in kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She went on to complete a doctor of physical therapy at Columbia University in New York. As a physical therapist, she has worked with patients in a variety of settings, including orthopedics, geriatrics, and sports medicine.
In her time away from the clinic, Jamie enjoys cooking vegetable dishes, reading contemporary fiction, and tending to her many plants. She is a former Pilates teacher and previously owned her own Pilates practice. When she was 21, Jamie taught English in Argentina. Knowing only a few Spanish phrases when she first arrived, her love of gelato inspired her to quickly learn, “Can I try?” so she could sample the many flavors.
