Dr. Hong Xu believes that it’s her job to guide patients’ medical choices, educate them on healthy living, and eliminate barriers to well-being. Her philosophy is to care for people’s minds and bodies, helping them protect their physical and mental health.
As an internal medicine resident, Dr. Xu has a special interest in preventing diseases in adults. She is passionate about integrative and lifestyle medicine. She believes that combining the wisdom of Western and Eastern health care gives patients more tools to pursue wellness.
Dr. Xu earned her medical degree at Bengbu Medical College in Bengbu, China. She completed a master of science in genetics at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. She has more than a decade of experience doing genetics research at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She speaks Mandarin and the Shanghai dialect.
In her spare time, Dr. Xu likes to hike, read books about the mind-body connection, and practice yoga, meditation, and tai chi.
