Gerard Sebastian, MD
Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Gerard Sebastian became a doctor to give his family and community the medical care they lacked. Dr. Sebastian was born in the Philippines, and his mother died giving birth to him. The loss inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. Today he focuses on treating patients with the same attention and thoughtfulness he offers his friends and loved ones.
Dr. Sebastian earned a bachelor of science in nursing and a doctor of medicine from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. From there he completed an internship at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. He spent several years as a general practitioner in the Philippines, where he also volunteered at a free clinic and an orphanage every week.
He continued his education in the United States, completing the Wheeling Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Wheeling, West Virginia. From there he competed a fellowship in diabetes at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
As a family physician and diabetes specialist, Dr. Sebastian has a special interest in helping patients prevent future health problems by properly controlling their blood sugars.
Away from medicine, Dr. Sebastian enjoys traveling with his wife and children. He also loves playing sports with his family.
