Eric Schmidt, MD
Sports Medicine Physician
Dr. Eric Schmidt believes that motion is the “potion” for longevity and health. His goal as a clinician is to facilitate healing and reincorporate physical activity into patients’ lives. He works with patients as a teammate, providing support for acute or chronic conditions and helping them make positive, healthy lifestyle changes.
Dr. Schmidt particularly enjoys helping individuals achieve their exercise goals. As a passionate bicyclist, runner, hiker, and yogi, he finds it rewarding to support the unique needs of athletes.
Dr. Schmidt earned a bachelor of science in exercise biology at the University of California, Davis, in Davis, California. He earned a doctor of medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. From there, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. He went on to finish a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Hawai’i in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
Away from medicine, Dr. Schmidt spends as much time as possible in the outdoors, including commuting by bike most days. He is a world traveler who enjoys slowing down to take in a gorgeous sunset.
