Ema Ando, FNP
Ema Ando enjoys getting to know patients and their families and caring for them over many years. As a family nurse practitioner, she believes in empowering patients to take control of their own health. She focuses on educating people about their conditions so that they understand what is going on in their body and can make choices that promote wellness.
Ema sees individuals of all ages. She has a special interest in diabetes education because it can reduce disease complications and slow the condition’s progression. She also enjoys guiding women through their contraceptive options.
Ema grew up in the Pacific Northwest but completed her undergraduate education in Japan, earning a bachelor of arts in international studies from the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki. She earned a master of science in nursing from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.
In her free time, Ema enjoys cross-country skiing and hiking with her husband. She also likes gardening, swimming, knitting, and painting. She is fluent in Japanese.
