Ella Vining, MD
Internist
Dr. Ella Vining enjoys supporting adults through the aging process. She finds it rewarding to create long-term relationships with patients and to work with their families and specialists to ensure they receive holistic, coordinated care.
As a provider, Dr. Vining focuses on listening to her patients and providing guidance. She believes that they are the experts on their own bodies. Understanding how patients are feeling and knowing their goals and priorities allows her to collaborate with them to manage their diseases and symptoms.
Dr. Vining earned bachelor of science in biology from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She earned a doctor of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. She also completed a fellowship in primary care at OHSU. Before joining the clinic, Dr. Vining worked for a practice that delivered care to homebound patients.
Away from medicine, Dr. Vining enjoys spending time with her husband, a writer and Reed College professor, and their two daughters. She likes to hike, jog, bike, bake, and try new things. She built her kids a clubhouse in her backyard and has taken up hand sewing. It’s rare for her to make it through the day without eating chocolate.
