Cole Southworth, DO
One of Dr. Cole Southworth’s first jobs was working with at-risk teenagers in the forests of Eugene, Oregon. He spent the better part of a decade overseeing trail-building projects and conservation work. He supervised youths and provided first aid when they twisted an ankle or got hurt in the wilderness. Returning to school several years later to earn a doctor of medicine was a natural extension of the caregiving and counseling he had been doing for so long, and built on his lifelong interest in health and the human body.
Today, Dr. Southworth enjoys being a wellness advocate for patients. He is future-focused, and cares more about where patients are going with their health than where they’ve been. As an osteopathic physician in internal medicine, he enjoys working with his hands and believes in the therapeutic power of touch.
Dr. Southworth earned a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Oregon in Eugene. He completed his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center.
Dr. Southworth and his wife have one son. Outside of work he enjoys running in Forest Park, hiking, car camping with his family, and standing in a rushing river with a fly rod in hand.
