Dr. Charmi Shah finds it rewarding to help patients with rheumatologic conditions feel happy and healthy. Because these diseases are complex and look different for each individual, she focuses on understanding patients’ unique experiences and developing tailored treatment plans.
Dr. Shah uses the latest innovations in the field to provide optimal care. She collaborates with patients and educates them about their options so that they can make informed decisions about their health. Dr. Shah has a special interest in spondyloarthropathies and rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Shah earned a bachelor of science in bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From there, she finished her doctor of medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois. She completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was also a chief rheumatology fellow at MCWAH. She is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
Away from medicine, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, baking, hiking, kayaking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is a huge fan of The Great British Baking Show.
