Cassandra Huang, MD
Family Medicine Physician
As a student, Dr. Cassandra Huang’s first job was lifeguarding at a local pool. Witnessing water accidents made her realize that it’s better to prevent problems than to treat them. She changed jobs to become a swimming instructor and has been teaching others what they need to know to stay safe and healthy ever since. Her passion for preventive care made family medicine a natural fit. Today she delights in empowering patients to take responsibility for their own wellness so that they can lead full and active lives.
Dr. Huang enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and celebrating their achievements as they work toward better health. She believes that a fundamental component of feeling cared for is feeling listened to. She has a particular interest in treating dermatological issues, including aesthetic concerns, and helping individuals manage diabetes.
Dr. Huang earned a bachelor of science in kinesiology and health science from York University in Toronto, Canada. She earned a doctor of medicine from All Saints University in Roseau, Dominica. She completed a family medicine residency at Louisiana State University’s Ochsner-LSU Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Outside of work, Dr. Huang practices yoga, plays tennis and volleyball, cooks, and gardens. Grocery stores, farmers markets, and Marshalls are among her happy places. She has a pet rabbit named Gloria Estebun. Her dream is to one day compete on The Amazing Race.
