Brian E. Houng, DPM

Dr. Brian Houng approaches care with a patient-first mindset. He believes that close communication and collaboration are instrumental to healing. It is incredibly rewarding to him to relieve patients’ symptoms and pain so they can play sports and enjoy daily activities again.
Dr. Houng enjoys all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. However, he is particularly passionate about flatfoot deformity correction, trauma care, arthroscopy, and total ankle replacements.
Dr. Houng’s love of basketball and fitness, plus an ongoing interest in sports medicine, propelled him to pursue a career in foot and ankle surgery. He started his education at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a bachelor of science in human biology. He earned master of science degrees in biomedical science and health administration and a doctor of podiatric medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. He went on to complete a comprehensive surgical residency training program at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, a level-1 trauma center, where he served as chief resident. From there, he completed a fellowship in advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Washington Orthopaedic Center in Centralia, Washington.
In his free time, Dr. Houng enjoys working out, playing basketball, exploring the great outdoors, and eating good food with great company. During his high school basketball days, he played against NBA superstar Russell Westbrook.
