Banny Wong, MD
Gastroenterologist
Dr. Wong graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1999. He received his MD in 2006 from Harvard Medical School where he completed a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship in transplantation immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed Internal Medicine residency as well as Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At Mayo, he published numerous highly-cited research articles and presented at international and national medical conferences. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic and practiced in the Portland area for 3 years prior to joining Vancouver Clinic.
With a strong commitment to compassionate and high-quality patient care, Dr. Wong believes that the needs of the patient always come first. He practices general gastroenterology with special interests in colon cancer prevention, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and celiac disease.
Born in Hong Kong, Dr. Wong grew up in the Boston area and is fluent in Cantonese Chinese. He is married with two children. He enjoys racket sports, fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
