Dr. Annie Herren finds joy in helping patients take charge of their own health. Whether she’s addressing an acute illnesses or a chronic condition, Dr. Herren collaborates with individuals to develop treatment options that fit their needs and values. She tailors each patient’s preventative care plan to promote long-term wellness. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Herren loves getting to know her patients and making a difference in their health and happiness.
Dr. Herren sees patients of all ages. She has experience working with young adults and enjoys offering counseling and guidance as they navigate their teens and 20s. She has particular interests in women’s health, mental health, and LBGTQ health.
Dr. Herren earned a bachelor of science in biological sciences at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She completed a doctor of medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. From there she finished an internship and residency at the University of Alabama Medicine Huntsville in Huntsville, Alabama. She is board certified in family medicine.
Aside from work, Dr. Herren enjoys spending time with her husband and their hound dog Bo. She keeps busy hiking, skiing, biking, practicing yoga, reading historical fiction, and playing board games and video games with friends. One of her greatest adventures was biking on the Matterhorn in Switzerland.
