Dr. Anca Balasu approaches patients with empathy and respect. She listens carefully to understand the unique story behind each person’s struggle. Dr. Balasu is passionate about working with children and adolescents. She pays careful attention to the developmental levels, social environments, and psychological strengths of her patients.
Dr. Balasu particularly enjoys helping people use their natural gifts to achieve better mental health. She finds it rewarding to help the next generation build resiliency and positive life-long habits. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, and anxiety disorders are among the conditions she treats.
Dr. Balasu earned her medical degree at the Carol Davila School of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania, and also completed a residency in pediatrics at Fundeni Hospital in Bucharest. She went on to complete a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. She is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry and has deep experience in the field.
Away from medicine, Dr. Balasu enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an avid traveler and loves immersing herself in different cultures. She also likes to hike, ski, and attend concerts.
