Allison Lawrence, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Allison Lawrence graduated from Yale University with a master of science in nursing with a special focus in midwifery and women’s health. She also holds a bachelor of arts in community health and international relations from Tufts University.
Prior to becoming a registered nurse, Allison spent two years in the Peace Corps, where she served as a public health educator in Quisuarpampa, Peru. While Allison has always been passionate about women’s health education, it was at this rural health post in the remote Andes Mountains that she discovered her calling as a midwife. Allison witnessed firsthand the ability of midwives to provide vital care to women who lived in harsh conditions, and was inspired by how they educated and empowered the patients they served.
As a caregiver, Allison believes that birth is a normal, healthy part of life. She enjoys helping mothers deliver their babies at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
Allison strives to offer women the latest, evidence-based information, and provide the space they need to make important decisions about their care. She has a particular interest in adolescent health, contraceptive options, and prenatal care. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys hiking, skiing, trail running, sleeping under the stars, traveling, reading, and trying new recipes and restaurants.
