Aaron Kaplan, MD
Neuroradiologist
As a radiologist, Dr. Aaron Kaplan spends his time interpreting medical images and collaborating with other physicians so that patients get an accurate diagnosis. Because the path forward frequently relies on the results of an MRI, CT, X-ray, or ultrasound, he focuses on delivering timely, accurate, and helpful conclusions. While he primarily serves patients behind the scenes, Dr. Kaplan enjoys the opportunity to talk to individuals, answer their questions, and relieve their anxieties about a test or procedure.
Dr. Kaplan has a special interest in brain imaging for patients with neurodegenerative disorders, such as mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. He also has deep experience in sinus, neck, and temporal bone imaging.
Dr. Kaplan earned a bachelor of science in animal physiology from the University of California, Davis. He went on to graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a doctor of medicine. He completed a residency in radiology at UCLA Medical Center, and a fellowship in diagnostic neuroradiology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in neuroradiology.
Dr. Kaplan and his wife have two sons. They enjoy hiking, beachcombing, and playing sports as a family. He is a confessed foodie who likes to explore the area’s haute cuisine and hidden dives. In his own kitchen he’s happiest mixing up homemade Belgian waffles or putting together a mean daikon kimchee. A former competitive tennis player and current table tennis player, Dr. Kaplan believes few things are better than a good rally with an opponent.
